There are many businesses who are in need of customer service people to assist their customers over the telephone, who have question or problems about their products. If you are good with people, and have prior customer service experience, such as that which is earned by working in food service or retail, you could find that working from home as a customer service representative may be a very good line of work.

To be a good customer service person, you will need a computer, internet connection, telephone and pleasant attitude. You will be representing the company for which you work, so ultimately you will be an extension of them. It is important that you always maintain a pleasant, polite attitude with customers. You will also need to maintain a professional setting, so a quiet home office will be ideal.

To find customer service work, look on freelance job sites. You will most likely need a resume and some training. You will be asked to take a telephone test before you will be able to work, so that the company will be certain that you have what it takes to represent them in the best possible way.
